Pizza Party With Pizzaz, Hold That Gluten

Crust +

DSC_0057I took advantage of a great deal from local Venice Bakery and that yielded at least a 2 months supply of gluten-free pizza crusts and flatbreads great for sandwiches.  To keep as long as possible, place in the freezer.  I have to admit, I was skeptical at first but after trying these crusts, I didn’t miss the gluten one bit.  You too can enjoy Venice Bakery as they deliver via the “interwebs” to your door.

Sauce +

The Pizza Sauce was Muir Glen Organic from the can.  Even though most cans contain Bisphenol-A (BPA) Muir Glen does not use BPA in any of their canned foods with an expiration date in the 2013 time frame or later, check before buying.

Cheese +

Since a few of us are trying out the dairy free lifestyle, we wanted to use Daiya, which is a cheese substitute using soy.  While it is not the most favorable cheese to use on pizza because of its uneven and difficulty melting, it was still tasty and that is all we had in the refrigerator so we made due.

Organic Farmers Market Toppings =

  • Mushrooms
  • Onions
  • Zucchini
  • Peppers
  • Basil
  • Cilantro
  • Spicy Cilantro Pesto

= Healthy pizza that adults and even the kids will love to eat.

Have you enjoyed some vegan, gluten-free pizza?  Any tips or tricks to share?
